Sutter Single and Dual Filter Wheels

The Sutter Lambda 10-2 is a high speed excitation filter wheel that utilizes a direct stepper motor(s) to reduce vibration and provide the smoothest and fastest possible movement between filter positions. The Sutter Lambda 10-2 Filter Wheel is ideal for a wide array of imaging applications that include single and multi-wavelength imaging, ratio imaging, optical sectioning for 3D Deconvolution and GFP Co-localization.

Complete software control is provided by ISee Imaging's ISee Filter Wheel Control Module which is a standard component of ISee Analytical Imaging Software.

Two versions of the Lambda 10-2 Filter Wheel are available:

Lambda 10-2/25 can be configured with up to two filter wheels and two electronic shutters. Each wheel has 10 positions and accepts 25mm diameter filters. Access time between adjacent filter positions is 55msec. The entrance and exit openings on both sides of the filter wheel housing have been threaded as C mounts. Each electronic shutter has a 10msec open/close cycle. Adapters are available for all major brands of microscopes.

Lambda 10-2/32 can be configured with up to two filter wheels and two electronic shutters. Each wheel has 10 positions and accepts 32mm diameter filters. Access time between adjacent filter positions is 60msec. The entrance and exit openings on both sides of the filter wheel housing have been threaded as T mounts. Each electronic shutter has a 10msec open/close cycle. Adapters are available for all major brands of microscopes.

An optional liquid fiber optic light guide is available for those applications that demand complete vibration isolation and spatial uniformity, independent of the wavelength. The liquid light guide mounts directly to the output port of the filter wheel. Transmission through the light guide is better than 70% for the wavelengths between 375nm and 575nm. Adapters are available for mounting the liquid light guide directly to most major brands of microscopes.

 

Sutter DG-4 High Speed Optical Changer

The Sutter DG-4 has been designed to provide the ultimate in speed and versatility for imaging applications that require rapid switching between two excitation wavelengths. Switching between any two wavelengths can be achieved in less than the 1.2ms vertical retrace period of a video signal thus allowing the user to perform real time video ratio imaging.

Based on dual scanning galvanometers, the user can select from up to four optical filter positions. The output illumination is passed to the microscope via a quartz fiber optic light guide.

Complete software control is provided by the Sutter DG-4 Control Module which is a standard component of ISee Analytical Imaging Software.

 

Sutter DG-4 Features Includes:

 

Illumination and Optical Filters
Includes a built-in 175 watt Xenon Lamp and Power Supply. Up to four 25mm excitation filters and ND filter positions are available. DG-4 will connect to the microscope via a quartz fiber optic output light guide.
Integrated Shuttering
Included is a high speed shutter with open/close times of 500 microseconds.
Integrated Neutral Density Filtering
ND filtering can be achieved through software control by offsetting the output galvanometer such that the light is not centered on the fiber optic light pipe. Up to 15 ND filters can be defined with this method. Due to the light scrambling effect of the light pipes, the output has excellent uniformity. Direct insertion of neutral density optical filters into any of the four filter positions is also available. A final optical filter can be inserted in the excitation path which will reduce the light output of all 4 channels.
Output Monitoring of Filter Positions
A 4-bit TTL signal transmits the current optical channel position. A digital to analog converter (DAC) output produces a voltage showing which filter is in use.
Methods of Control
ISee Imaging's ISee DG-4 Hardware Control Module provides complete software control over all the DG-4 setup and control functions.
Video Sync Pulse in which the video sync pulse can be used to initiate the filter change for each sequence.
Video Sync with Strobe Low allows the system to implement a filter change on the video sync pulse, but only if the strobe line is held low. This allows the ISee DG-4 Control Module to override the sync pulse.
